How Multiport Valves Operates?

The major types of pool filtering system: cartridge, sand, and diatomaceous earth (DE). Sand and DE filters use a multiport valve typically to assist clean or backflush the filter media.

Cartridge filters do not have multiport valves. these filters are cleaned by eliminating the cartridge and spraying it with a garden hose. an ordinary multiport valve has 7 settings: filter, backwash, rinse, waste, closed, recirculate, and winter. There are 5 ports into and out of an ordinary multiport valve. The top left port, labelled “PUMP”, brings unfiltered water in from the pump. The middle-left port, labelled “Return”, sends filtered water again to the pool. The middle proper port, labelled “WASTE”, sends water to an external drain hose. the alternative ports manipulate drift though the filter. related to the internal piping of the filter.

At Bottom valve, a pipe port connects to the collection tubes (laterals) on the bottom of the filter. The location across the pipe on the bottom side of the valve directs water to the pinnacle of the filter. This picture indicates water glide for a “filter” putting.
